Gasoline pipeline severed in Midland

 A gasoline pipeline was severed by a trencher and 1,000 barrel or more of gasoline leaked onto the ground. What a waste of good gasoline. The ground soaking up this gasoline is also an environmental snafu.

Water tank explodes in Odessa

 A water tank exploded and shook houses in an Odessa neighborhood yesterday. No injuries have been reported.

Andrews school teacher arrested

 A high school teacher in Andrews threw a party and supplied alcohol to students,allegedly,and was arrested after neighbors called lawdogs complaining about the noise. AISD has confirmed the teacher's contract will not be renewed.

Lubbock City Council

  The Lubbock City Council pulled a "ban texting" while driving ordinance which usually means the votes to pass evaporated. The council did OK a $55,000 study by a local architecture firm to design a $750,000 addition to the new animal shelter.
