Innovative Protests For LP&L "monopoly"
This editor has heard about three "pay with coins" protests. I have some other ideas about protests.
"Crap On LP&L",maybe a few irate citizens would take their dogs and cats to LP&L offices after 5 and have them crap on LP&L. Mother nature taking it's course.
"Albatross Protest", Maybe a few large fish to feed stray cats hanging around downtown at LP&L porch.
"Homeless Protest" where a few tents pop-up on the LP&L frontage area where the sign protest was conducted.
"Body Odor" protest, irate citizens smear feces on themselves, wear a swimming noseclip and pay in coins, stink 'em up!
I don't think any of the above are unlawful!!
Did LP&L Board And City Council Get "bribed" To Raise Rates?
This weekend Glen Robertson revealed that LP&L CEO Gary Zheng was offering "free Tech football tickets" to both LP&L board members and Lubbock City Council members. After the Facebook entry by Robertson became circulated several phonecalls were alleged to have been made. Here's who called who, possibly.
Mikel Ward called John Steinmetz,Texas Tech Board of Regent and former LCRP chairman.
Steinmetz is thought to have called Kent Hance(speculation).
This is thought to have led to LP&L board member George Carpenter calling Mikel Ward and Carpenter was "bent out of shape" claiming Ward was trying to interfere with the renewal of Tech's ad and electric generation contract with LP&L. This editor has but one question,"Was George Carpenter's "butt" one of the board or council members sitting in those "free football ticket seats"? Another question is,What other "freebies" were board and council members getting from LP&L bureaucrats to encourage a yes vote on rate increases that have Lubbock citizens in revolt? This LP&L "mess",as Mikel Ward calls it,appears to have a "dishonest" tone to it. This editor wants to know if those "free" football tickets" were in a "Skybox" similar to the UMC one where free food and beverages(alcohol) are served.
Were members of the LP&L board and/or city council BRIBED to raise LP&L rates??
