Strange

Today this editor observed a "bad" car wreck on North Frankford Avenue at 5PM. One truck was upside down in the ditch. Debris was scattered in the middle lanes for over 100 feet. No less than 6 LPD "gestapo" cars as well as LSO and DPS "gestapo" cars were also seen. 20 minutes later the entire debris field was gone along with all "gestapo" cars and agents except for 2 agents and one car. The overturned vehicle was still in the ditch. I have never seen that many "gestapo" cars and agents at one wreck and then "not there" 20 minutes later. The litter field also looked like it had been vacuumed. I was totally unaware the "gestapo" could actually perform litter patrol. I've never seen an LPD "gestapo" agent pick up litter, ever.

  WEIRD!!

What A Townhall Meeting Is and Is Not

Townhall meetings are the newest fad. Some elected officials use these meetings to scheme up scripted questions,Todd Klein is famous for it. Glen Robertson tried early morning townhall meetings to prevent a crowd. A newcomer named Jim Gerlt will hold his first townhall meeting. This fella is a preacher and will use his church and may have a few of "his flock" there to throw the "softball questions". This editor hasn't attended a townhall meeting in several years. Citizens get very little information and elected officials get some publicity at a townhall meeting. Todd Klein held a townhall meeting yesterday and no publicity emerged,at least none on websites. I discourage people from attending townhall meetings, life is not worth wasting time on the "townhall meeting" fad.

Eating Out With Flies

Last night I took my tenant to George's on 4th St. across from Body Works. We ordered our meals and were informed that the grill fan went out so the cook opened the Drive-Thru window. The flies numbered around 20,maybe more. We ate half our food, while fanning the flies. We got to-go cartons for the other half and will eat the food today.
The moral to this entry is dining in could mean "dining with flies".

Football Season Starts

Tonight the Dullas Cowpies open the NFL pre-season with the Miami Dolphins in the Hall of Fame game. This is the first of five preseason tune-ups for the Cowpies. Texas Tech held a public practice this week-end for those foolish enough to waste time on a practice session. The Cowpie/Dolphin game will be on NBC(Ch.11/Lubbock) and it will probably be packed with needless interviews and too many commercials.
  Kick Off at 7PM Central!
