I'm just catching up on comments and the like but I am puzzled about something that was said the other night during the special city council meeting. Maybe this has been discussed here and I just haven't read it. LPandL said they did not charge for online users to make payment arrangements. I've looked on their page and can't find anywhere you can make payment arrangements online. Am I just overlooking it or do they just not know what the hell is going on in their company? I don't need to make arrangements but i think its pretty crappy if they say you can do that online when you can't, but if that's the case then I'm glad they stated that publicly to let us know what fools they are.

I was one of the first people to complain to LP&L, the Mayor's office, and the media. I paid my July bill on time and my check was cashed. Today I got a call saying that I was overdue and that if I didn't get in touch with LP&L immediately (as if that is possible, given the standard wait times for LP&L customer service) my account was going to be turned over to a collection agency.
...
I contacted LP&L and they said that I had been called in error, that I had paid my bill on time, that they had cashed my check in time, and that my current balance was $0.00. What had happened, according to the customer service person I talked to, was that somebody else had set up an account using my phone number.
I don't want to sound paranoid but, as a fairly prominent complainant, I am wondering if this is retaliatory. It, quite frankly, sounds bogus. Has anybody else had a similar experience? If so, I would like to know about. Any pattern of harassment, if that is what is happening, should be reported to the Mayor's office.

Two examples of why LP&L is unpopular. It is time that the city council "clean up" the LP&L mess.
