WT Free Press EXCLUSIVE!!
This editor was granted an exclusive interview with an unnamed inmate that detailed disturbing details about an unpublicized Lubbock County "warrant division" that employs what appeared to be "trained military type" personnel. These "goons" serve warrants, the inmate had a "domestic assault" warrant, but the squad refused to identify themselves individually and refused to show warrant or complaint to the citizen.Detention center had no record of the complaint or warrant. The citizen is a local caregiver for a 77 year-old elderly man and citizen had "goons" knock on front door, force their way into home and place cuffs on citizen thus traumatizing elderly man. No less than 5 deputies were on this adventure and citizen only had one misdemeanor with two previous misdemeanors of a non-violent nature that remain unfiled. Inmate believes the alleged domestic assault complaint is bogus and like two previous charges has no grounds for arrest or bond. Inmate also suggested he was targeted by county for his vocal opposition to wasteful spending at a few townhall meetings he attended last year. Inmate also suggested county could be creating bogus arrests to keep inmate headcount up to get state subsidies and support padded payroll at detention center. Citizen was detained for 11 hours and detention center did bond out citizen on a $1,500 bond. Citizen indicated he was assaulted during arrest procedure in his opinion. WT Free Press has contacted a few inmates and they confirmed this "goon squad" is in operation and it is thought to be funded by a federal law enforcement grant.
WT Free Press EXCLUSIVE!!
Citizen went further to say he wouldn't attend any further public meetings since he had no desire for future bogus arrests to occur. Citizen used term "KGB tactic" may be right here in Lubbock to quell dissent.
