Quiet Start To Fireworks Season

  Lubbock County residents are smiling as the start to fireworks season has seen slow sales and very little fireworks after dark. The tumbleweeds and dry grass are in surplus and residents may have finally wised up and decided to forego fireworks on county roads. The extreme heat will dry out foliage and make possible fires from fireworks more of a danger. In other news Lubbock has been in a triple digit heatwave so residents should check on elderly relatives and friends and all pets should have shade and water.
