Councilman Gerlt has sunk to a new and possibly illegal form of promoting a tax-exempt religious organization. Bacon Heights Baptist Church is issued a 501C tax-exempt permit from IRS. It's charter is limited to religious organization activities. Tonight Mr.Gerlt will hold a City of Lubbock townhall meeting in Bacon Heights Baptist Church at 6:30PM. Mr.Gerlt is a "rookie" on the city council and and amateur as elected officials go. Politics has too many religious fanatics,especially baptists,with distorted ideas on how to run the government. I will NOT attend this meeting and I discourage others from wasting their time on this phony baloney meeting.
