City of Lubbock Expenditures This Last Session

  All information below came from City of Lubbock "backup" agenda.

5. 11. Minnix - $213,000 Asbestos Removal At Police Department
5. 12. Stiles,Wallace - $56,000 Study for addition to Animal Shelter
5. 16. Warren Cat - $585,000 Purchase of Caterpillar D8T Dozer
5. 18. Enprotec/Hibbs&Todd - Up to $74,000 for improvement to city fuel station
5. 19. Roberts Truck Center,4 vehicles- $553,000,Lubbock Truck Sales,2 vehicles,$251,000
5. 20. Chapman/Harvey Architects,$204,000 for design of renovations to Civic Center

  The above expenditures will cover removal of asbestos at LPD. It appears the police department is "contaminated" with asbestos. Two renovation/expansion projects will get over $250,000 in blueprints from architects. The city fuel station could cost up to $74,000 in renovations. The solid waste department will get a new Caterpillar Dozer that will cost over a half million bucks. City also spent over $800,000 on 6 new vehicles for Parks,Streets and Solid Waste.
The tab for Thursday session is about $2,000,000. Local media only reported the smallest expenditure of $56,000 on the Animal Shelter blueprints.
