TXDot,road repair and tax dollars

Rick Perry continues to prod elected officials with yet another special session trying to finance Texas roads&highways. The infrastructure is a giant suction cup attached to taxpayers wallets. Some legislators want a Texas constitutional amendment to siphon oil&gas taxes from the rainy day fund to TXDot general revenue fund. Texas has better roads than most states and government continues to throw money at "rigged" bids for upgrades not really needed. Cities and counties even match state funds to waste tax dollars. Fixing potholes and guardrails should be top priority but widening roads should be on an as needed basis. State taxpayers are tapped out and road repair should be lowered to essential need only.
